nQuality Engineer II
nnnJob Description:Position Summary:
nThe Quality Engineer position will work closely to solve quality problems and support new development programs, legacy programs, and conduct internal audits.
nnSupervisory Responsibilities:

nnPrimary Duties and Responsibilities:
nThe Quality Engineer has a broad range of duties, including:
n- n
- Working closely with Engineering to ensure that designs meet applicable quality requirements. n
- Plan and perform internal quality audits and execute action items. n
- Lead quality initiatives to reduce scrap and rework by developing and facilitating cross-functional teams. n
- Conducting quality investigations. n
- Be an active participant in the material review board. n
- Provide quality function support by working closely with Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing to manage customer relations, expectations, needs and satisfaction. n
- Independently drive and direct actions with departmental groups to maintain MRB and RMA issues. n
- Drive key quality performance metrics: DPPM, OTD, Cost of Quality, Customer Scorecards, Internal Audit Risk and Effectiveness, Supplier Performance, Contract Review. n
- Source inspection liaison n
- Travel to customer and supplier locations as required. n
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

- Supporting new product introduction programs by creating and maintaining the following as required: n
- Production Part Approval Process n
- Advanced Product Quality Planning n
- Zero Defects Program n
- Control Plans n
- Inspection Plans n
- Inspection Reports n
- First Article Inspection Reports n
- Supplier Approval and Development n
- Attend NPI meetings including n
- Preliminary Design Reviews n
- Critical Design Reviews n
- Make Buy Reviews n
- Monitor Progress of NPI programs through manufacturing and into production n
- Conduct purchase order reviews related to NPI and production programs n
- Interact with customers on NPI and production programs n
- Engage in problem solving with engineering, operations, and supply chain on NPI and production programs n
- Support shipments of NPI and production programs n
- Conduct internal audits n
- Become a designated quality representative when required by the customer n
Required Skills and Abilities :
n- n
- Knowledge of aerospace quality requirements and specifications. n
- Proven track record of partnering with manufacturing and engineering n
- Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action. Experience with formal quality and operations systems. n
- Capable of reviewing and interpreting drawings, contracts / POs, and applicable processing standards. n
- Skilled at performing First Article inspections. n
- Proficiency with MS Office applications:Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. n
- An understanding of use and application of statistics and SPC. n
- Six Sigma n
Education and Experience:
n- n
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering required n
- 9 to 10plus years working in the aerospace and or automotive industry in a quality, engineering, or manufacturing capacity. n
- Previous experience in a high mix, low volume job shop n
- Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment n
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D Quality Management System processes. n
- Due to ITAR restrictions an export license may be required n
Other Skills:

- Computer Literacy in Excel, Minitab, CAD and Visio n
- Advanced problem solving and advanced data analysis techniques n
- Knowledge in and experience in 8D problem solving techniques, SPC and statistical analysis n
Physical Requirements:

- Continuous periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer and phone. n
- Prolonged time standing. n
- Must be able to occasionally lift 25 pounds at a time. n
- Frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands. n

Compensation
nnSalary Minimum: $100,000
nSalary Maximum: $120,000
