Location: Onsite – Tamarac, FLSchedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (EST), with additional hours as neededTravel Requirement: Up to 50% (Primarily Domestic)Employment Type: Direct HireSalary: $109,000Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to ensure the delivery of high-quality materials and components from our supplier base. This role plays a key part in supplier auditing, development, and performance monitoring, while also supporting internal quality initiatives and assisting with the maintenance of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).
Key Responsibilities n
- n
- Collaborate with engineering to understand raw material requirements for new product development (NPD) n
- Support supplier onboarding and development in partnership with purchasing and engineering teams n
- Manage the PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) for product changes and onboarding new suppliers n
- Perform first article inspections in coordination with the inspection team n
- Conduct capability analysis (Cp / Cpk) to evaluate supplier process consistency n
- Initiate and manage the Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR) process n
- Monitor and follow up on open SCARs to ensure timely resolution n
- Support suppliers in root cause analysis and validate corrective actions during follow-up visits n
- Conduct quarterly reviews and maintain ongoing communication with key supplier contacts n
- Provide resources and training to suppliers on Lean and Six Sigma tools n
- Analyze supplier performance and recommend process or equipment improvements n
- Maintain detailed documentation, including supplier reports, audit checklists, and SOPs n
- Create and manage the annual supplier audit schedule to reduce travel and optimize resource use n
- Support quality inspectors with first article inspection, data analysis, and change communication n
- Ensure compliance with internal policies such as the Product Change Notification (PCN) process n
- Contribute to QMS software maintenance and quality department reporting n
- Maintain dashboards, project trackers, and metrics aligned with departmental goals n
- Perform additional duties as assigned n
Required Qualifications n
- n
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or a related Engineering field n
- 2+ years of experience in a Supplier Quality Engineering or similar manufacturing role n
- Experience conducting supplier visits, audits, and development activities n
- Strong understanding of quality core tools (e.g., PFMEA, control plans, process flow) n
- Knowledge of PPAP, SCARs, and capability studies (Cp/Cpk) n
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills n
- Ability to lead and influence suppliers to meet performance expectations n
- Willingness to travel up to 50% (primarily domestic) n
Qualifications n

- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification n
- Experience with Kaizen event leadership n
- Lean Certification n
- Trained Auditor certification n
- Familiarity with SAP in a manufacturing setting n
- Experience with Lean material management and related systems n
