About the Role

n

The Director of Civil Engineering is charged with growing the companys footprint through civil engineering, playing a pivotal role in shaping and executing the firms design strategy with our landscape architects. This leadership position involves managing complex drainage and stormwater projects, directing regulatory approvals, and guiding internal teams toward quality execution across all project phases including construction and maintenance. This is a unique opportunity to influence long-term growth and mentor future leaders within a collaborative, innovation-driven environment.

We are seeking a strategic and technically skilled professional who offers:

Leadership & Management Experience

n

n
• 5+ years in civil engineering, land development, or construction management
n
• Proven ability to direct cross-functional teams and coordinate with permitting agencies
n
• Client-focused mindset with a commitment to quality and value
n

Technical Qualifications

n

n
• B.S. in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
n
• PE or EIT certification
n
• Strong background in:
n
• Stormwater management system design
n
• Erosion and sedimentation control
n
• Design-build project delivery
n
• Construction cost estimating and proposal development
n
• BMP Inspections
n
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Hydraflow, FlowMaster
n

Project Coordination & Oversight

n

n
• Ability to oversee multiple projects across regional offices
n
• Strong organizational and communication skills for interdepartmental collaboration
n
• Field readiness to support site execution and quality control
n

n

Key Responsibilities

n

n
• Meet with current and prospective clients to evaluate existing stormwater management infrastructure
n
• Lead design-build initiatives in collaboration with planning, construction, and landscape teams
n
• Inspection and documentation of existing stormwater management BMPs, dams, and other infrastructure.
n
• Support/Assist project sales, client proposals, and construction reviews
n
• Manage the design and delivery of stormwater management, grading, and erosion control systems
n
• Perform construction cost estimating, quantity takeoffs, and material sourcing for proposals
n
• Prepare and submit regulatory documentation (Township, DEP, DOT permits)
n
• Standardize civil engineering practices across multi-branch operations
n
• Guide construction and maintenance crews with practical engineering input
n
• Foster strong, long-term client relationships through technical excellence and responsiveness
