Join our dynamic team as an Environmental Safety and Health (ESH) Engineer Specialist, where your expertise will be pivotal in enhancing our organization's ESH compliance and performance. In this vital role, you will conduct thorough inspections, collect and analyze data, maintain precise records, and engage in training and emergency preparedness activities. Your commitment will ensure that our workplace is not only safe but also compliant with all regulatory requirements and internal standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections, audits, and safety reviews of facilities and equipment to identify hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulations.
  • Gather and manage environmental monitoring data, including air quality assessments, water sampling, and noise level measurements.
  • Assist in incident investigations by collecting relevant information, including photographs and documentation.
  • Monitor the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in line with established safety protocols.
  • Maintain updated Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and chemical inventory records with accurate data.
  • Support the planning and execution of safety training sessions, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns.
  • Contribute to the management of hazardous and non-hazardous waste, ensuring proper labeling, storage, and disposal procedures are followed.
  • Keep accurate ESH records and logs, including regulatory and compliance documentation.
  • Engage in emergency preparedness and response activities such as spill response, evacuation drills, and readiness assessments.

Qualifications:

  • TS/SCI w/ Poly Clearance is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Health, or a related technical field.
  • 4-8 years of relevant experience in occupational safety and health; or a Master's degree with 2-6 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of occupational safety laws, industrial safety practices, and hazard analysis methods.
  • Hands-on experience in:
    • Accident investigations and root cause analysis
    • Risk assessments and hazard identification
    • Safety audits and compliance monitoring
    • Writing operational procedures and technical safety documents
  • Familiarity with PPE selection, toxicology, and radiation protection principles.
  • Proficient in delivering health and safety training as well as toolbox talks.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams, ensuring safety is central to all projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications from recognized safety organizations such as:
    • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
    • Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
    • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
    • Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
  • Experience in designing safety controls and protective equipment or in eliminating hazards in complex environments.
  • Proven expertise in managing regulatory compliance and handling federal/state safety inspections.
  • Background in radiation safety, chemical hygiene, or toxic materials handling.
  • Experience in industries with strict safety regulations, such as manufacturing, defense, or aerospace.
  • Familiarity with safety assurance systems, incident tracking software, or EHS management platforms.

Pay Range: Pay Range $72,150.00 - $130,425.00
