Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Shift: 7:00am-3:30pm M-F

The Maintenance Technician main objective is to follow the tasks, and the Safety and Hazmat rules involved in the manufacturing and blending of Kurita America products, processes and applications. They are responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain manufacturing and facility equipment as well as groundskeeping and building maintenance. The maintenance technician is also responsible for operating and maintaining equipment in the manufacturing area ensuring that all machinery runs smoothly and assisting in the shipment of products.

Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of manufacturing equipment during machine service.
Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of manufacturing machines including the boiler (if applicable).
Safely and accurately use mixers and have thorough knowledge of their control panels including water, on/off switches, valves, etc.
Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
Perform groundskeeping and building maintenance duties.
If needed, able to help production by blending, repackaging or relabeling chemicals in accordance with Kurita’s quality control procedures, including completing and maintaining batch tickets, labels and other order details.
Collecting chemical and hazardous / non-hazardous waste samples as required.
Learn and maintain training in chemical segregation, hazardous waste manifesting, hazardous waste recordkeeping, hazardous waste labeling, RCRA and DOT regulations compliance
Able to identifying hazardous waste, perform hazardous waste inspections, and manage hazardous waste spills.
Maintain hazmat employee training (every 3 years) and appropriate RCRA training (annually) for shipping/receiving of hazardous goods and hazardous waste.

High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or three years related experience.
Certification and licensing to operate factory machinery and forklift is strongly preferred.
Current or quickly obtain forklift operating license plus basic maintenance experience.
Ability to learn how to operate, maintain and identify problems or malfunctions with machinery and equipment.
Good problem-solving skills are necessary to troubleshoot manufacturing equipment issues.
Mechanical abilities and aptitude combined with the following physical requirements: lift 55lbs, use forklifts, and wear respirator and other PPE.
Climbing, ascending, and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and industrial equipment, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
Using upper extremities to move objects and equipment with steady force.
