PRN Pay Rate: $23.00/per hour
Our available shifts may include morning (7-3:30, 10 hour shift), evening (11:30-8, 8 hour shift), weekends (7-7, 12 hour shift), and holidays. The position is for an as needed basis mainly for vacation coverages and unexpected shift openings.

Responsibilities:
Under direct supervision, the Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacist in providing medications to patients and performs routine duties in hospital pharmacy.
Specific duties:
- Preparing medications under the supervision of the pharmacist on shift, including but not limited to:
- Performs Medication Repacking functions as per policy and under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist.
- Fills medication cassettes under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Prints out and fills label requests for First dose or Stat medications.
- Prepares IV medications under the direct supervision of a pharmacist
- Drug delivery functions, including but not limited to:
- Delivering and replacement of the appropriate quantities of the medications and supplies to the correct patient area(s) according to policy.
- Assisting with accurate billing and crediting of patient medications.
- Inventory control to include the maintenance of drugs in the Pharmacy in accordance with the Drug Formulary, to include ordering, receiving, storing and filling out all necessary paperwork.
- Maintains all forms and reports necessary for the control of narcotics and other controlled substances.
- Narcotic reconciliation to include monitoring of doses administered according to Medication Administration Records on the narcotics sign-out record.
- Maintains all paperwork necessary for the performance of the Pharmacy's Quality Improvement Plan.
- Maintains any paperwork necessary for the Pharmacy's financial reporting system.
- Promotes and maintains high standard of safety. Demonstrates knowledge of infection control procedure and conscientiously follows procedures.
- Shows the ability to communicate with customers of all ages at a level of understanding appropriate for any given age.
Qualifications:
Minimum Skills, Knowledge & Abilities (including licensure, certification and other job-related credentials):
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- One to two year's experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred.
- Current State Board of Pharmacy Registration as a Pharmacy Technician required or Current State Board of Pharmacy Registration Certificate as a Pharmacist Intern based on state requirement and completed P1 year
- ACPE Sterile Products Certification required.
- Current Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) preferred.
