ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY: The Arc San Francisco is a non-profit service and advocacy organization dedicated to supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families in San Francisco, San Mateo, and Marin counties.
Position Summary: The Employment Specialist plays a crucial role in transforming the lives of adults with developmental disabilities by providing essential training and support on their journey to successful employment. This role involves addressing barriers to employment, developing job search skills, and delivering services such as assessments and social support. The position collaborates closely with the Associate Director of Job Development to guide participants through employment planning and job search processes, and to equip them with necessary skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain a caseload and provide employment support services to participants.
- Develop job readiness curriculum, conduct training/workshops, and facilitate job clubs.
- Perform job analysis, task analysis, and job matching activities.
- Work with employers to increase job opportunities, upgrade jobs, and expand hours for clients.
- Liaise with families, case managers, and counselors regarding participant barriers.
- Build relationships with employers and community partners.
- Participate in community events, meetings, and training sessions.
- Coordinate with departments for service referrals, funding, and caseload management.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with funding regulations.
- Ensure data accuracy across databases like Salesforce.

Education and Experience:
- Minimum one year of experience as a job coach or employment specialist.
- Experience with employment goals, workforce development, and individuals with disabilities preferred.
- Strong administrative and computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office and Salesforce.
- Valid California Drivers license and auto insurance acceptance.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Repetitive keyboard use, phone use, walking, standing, bending, and client interaction. The role requires traveling within the Bay Area.
