Laboratory Supervisor
Responsible for collecting, processing, and performing testing of patient specimens.

Education
- Bachelor's degree (or Associates Degree for grandfathered personnel)
Licenses and Certification
MLS (ASCP) or equivalent certification required
Experience and Skills
- 5+ years of experience in a clinical laboratory.
- Leadership and technical expertise.
Physical Activities
- Intermittent hand manipulation required
- Intermittent lifting and carrying of 50 pounds
Role Specific Responsibilities
- Supports and communicates Laboratory initiatives and philosophies.
- Perform routine waived, moderately, and high complex testing.
- Collects, Processes and Receives specimens (including blood, urine, fecal, body fluid) to be analyzed in all departments of the clinical laboratory.
- Evaluates and solves problems related to collection and processing of biological specimens of analysis of all age ranges.
- Prepare samples for testing and send out to reference laboratories
- Maintain laboratory equipment and stock supplies.
- Performs complex laboratory procedures; recognizes deviation from expected results; analyzes and corrects problems using scientific principles under direct supervision per CLIA requirements.
- Analyzes quality control data, makes judgments concerning results and takes appropriate action to maintain accuracy and precision.
- Assist in troubleshooting and instrument maintenance.
- Participate in training programs.
- Participate in accreditation activities.
- Participate in comparison studies and validation of new equipment.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving instrument failures.
- Oversee quality control programs and proficiency testing.
- Work closely with supervisors on laboratory operations.
- Assist with regulatory compliance and inspections.
- Serve as a mentor to fellow coworkers.
- Provide continuing education for staff.
- Assist in writing and revising laboratory procedures.
- Supervise daily operations and serve as a key operator for testing platforms.
- Lead troubleshooting and quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to CAP, CLIA, and hospital regulations.
- Collaborate with leadership on new testing implementation.
- Assist in maintaining accreditation and compliance documentation.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in one or more lab disciplines.
Compensation (Commensurate with experience): $25.09 - $46.45
