Compensation Range
The base pay scale for this position is $83,000.00 - $126,875.00. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.

Overview
Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) is seeking a dynamic Senior Analyst, Financial Planning to support the organization's continued growth and expansion. This role is a key member of the Capital Planning team and plays a critical part in driving strategic capital investment by managing project budgets, improving planning processes, and optimizing the use of the capital planning system (Strata).
This position offers a unique opportunity to work cross-functionally with senior leadership, including the COO, VP of Budget and Financial Planning, and VP of Facilities & Construction to align financial planning with enterprise-wide priorities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead capital budget development and tracking across strategic and operational initiatives.
  • Manage and enhance the capital planning system (Strata), leveraging automation to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Coordinate the annual capital budgeting process, engaging key stakeholders and aligning financial and strategic goals.
  • Partner with executive leadership to resolve budget issues and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for Board meetings and stakeholder meetings.
  • Track committed and uncommitted capital expenses, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on capital planning best practices, industry trends, and relevant policy changes.
  • Support the Senior Director in facilitating Capital Steering Committee and Sub-Committee meetings, including agenda planning, materials preparation, and follow-up tracking.
  • Continuously refine departmental processes and policies to support evolving priorities.
  • Work with the VP of Budget and Financial Planning on operating budget initiatives
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA a plus).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate or institutional financial planning, preferably within healthcare.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience using financial planning systems; proficiency in Strata is a strong advantage.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and build relationships with cross-functional teams and senior leaders.
  • Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, complex environments and can manage multiple priorities.
