HLA Clinical Laboratory Technologist (Night Shift)
Location: Palo Alto, CA
Job Type: Full-Time, Night Shift
Comp: $45-70/hr
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced HLA Clinical Laboratory Technologist to join our team in Palo Alto, CA. This is a night shift position where you will play a key role in conducting high-complexity testing in human leukocyte antigen (HLA) typing, essential for organ transplantation, and other related testing. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, skilled in laboratory techniques, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform HLA typing using techniques such as PCR, SSO, and SSP.
- Process and analyze blood and tissue samples to identify antigens related to transplant compatibility.
- Ensure accuracy and reliability in testing by following laboratory protocols and procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with equipment or testing procedures.
- Interpret and report test results in a clear and accurate manner.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, ensuring it is in optimal working condition.
- Maintain proper documentation and adhere to quality control standards.
- Work with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure proper patient care and treatment.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Medical Technology, Biology, or related field.
- Certification as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or equivalent (ASCP or equivalent certification preferred).
- HLA laboratory experience is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing tests.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment and processes.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and compliance regulations.
- Must be comfortable working night shifts.
