The Accounts Payable Clerk provides support to Accounts Payable within the Finance department.

This is a part time position at our administrative office in Tigard (24 hours per week).

Duties
  • Process vendor invoices into paperless document software.
  • 3-way match vendor invoices related to purchase orders in purchasing software.
  • Process expense reports for staff and clinicians.
  • Communicates with vendors or staff regarding vendor accounts, invoice status or resolving any issues that arise with regard to payment.
  • Reconciles monthly vendor statements to invoices received.
  • Ensure timely approval of invoices by managers.
  • Maintains A/P vendor files, including archiving and setting up new vendor files at year end.
  • Providing accrual reports to the general ledger team.
  • Backup the accounting assistant with taking minutes or routing of mail if required.
  • Backup the accounts payable specialist with payments, expense report budget questions and new vendor setup in the accounting software, if required.
  • Assist other staff in providing documentation during audits.
  • Effectively handles multiple assignments, special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Ensures data entry is timely and accurate.
  • Performs accounts payable filing on a weekly basis and ensures filing is up to date.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or other related field preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Experience with Document Locator, Sage 100 or other computerized accounting software preferred.
  • Previous experience working in an accounting or accounts payable position (while maintaining excellent data entry speed) required.
  • Must be detail-oriented and accurate.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to work independently and investigate discrepancies in vendor invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documents.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a background check.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
