In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing high-quality materials, managing supplier relationships, ensuring timely deliveries, and driving cost efficiency-all while supporting production goals and maintaining compliance with engineering and quality standards.Key Responsibilities Source goods and services globally to meet engineered design, quality, and delivery requirements. Create and manage purchase orders and supplier data in the ERP system, including pricing and terms. Negotiate with suppliers, monitor vendor performance, and maintain supplier continuity while identifying cost-reduction opportunities. Read and interpret technical specifications, schematics, and drawings to ensure purchased materials meet requirements. Oversee domestic and international freight selection, coordinate logistics, and expedite orders to meet deadlines. Collaborate with the Master Scheduler on MRP, production planning, and scheduling as needed. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes and mitigate supply chain risks. Qualifications & Experience 10+ years' purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment (make-to-order preferred). Proven track record of purchasing complex items and custom parts. Strong understanding of documentation, technical drawings, and specifications. International shipping and purchasing experience. Prior design or drafting engineering experience is a plus. Proficient in MS Office; experience with ERP systems required. Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
