Paramedic Position
*$15,000 sign-on bonus for day shift with a two-year full-time commitment.
*$25,000 sign-on bonus for night shift with a two-year full-time commitment.
The Paramedic role is responsible for the direction of patient care while operating non-emergency and/or emergency modalities as rescue unit in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and directives.
The EMT-P lead, direct, and participate in the delivery of basic and advanced life support in a pre-hospital or facility situation. When operating as attendant-in-charge, EMT-P provides direction to other crew members on patient care and medical issues. The EMT-P delivers emergency medical care to patients as indicated by medical control or patient care protocols.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Time will be spent leading, directing, and participating in the delivery of basic and advanced life support in a pre-hospital or facility situation.
- Gives direction to other crew members when operating as attendant-in-charge on patient care and medical issues.
- Examines patients and reports findings to receiving medical staff or physicians.
- Delivers emergency medical care to patients as indicated by medical control or patient care protocols.
- Responsible for completing and recording all required reports or runs made by the crews.
- Operate the ambulance in accordance with safety rules and regulations: company policies; federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and statutes
- Assuring that assigned vehicle is completely stocked and in good running order at the beginning of each shift, after every response, and at the end of each shift.
- Cleaning patient care compartment and vehicle in accordance with Company adopted infection control and maintenance guidelines.
- Maintaining office, lounge, bunk room, and vehicle parking area in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
- Ability to lift, carry, and balance a minimum of 125 pounds equally distributed and 250 pounds with assistance, to a height of 33 inches and a distance of 10 feet
- Attending training sessions and orientations as required to maintain valid Virginia EMT Certification and requirements of the Company.
- Maintain all required certifications as an active EMS provider and supply the Human Resources Department with valid copies of all certifications and driver's license prior to their expiration date.
- Performing other related duties as required by management.
Qualifications
Experience & Skills:
- Current Virginia EMT-I or EMT-P Certification
- Current CPR, Healthcare Provider Issue
- Current ACLS Certification
- Current PALS/PEPP Certification
- Current EVOC Certification
- BTLS/ITLS or PHTLS preferred
- Valid Driver's License with no negative point
- Pass a criminal background check
- FEMA ICS 100, 200, 700 & 800c
- HAZMAT
