Structural Assembler
Primary responsibility of the Structural Assembler is to assemble and/or fabricate mechanical parts per blueprints or work instructions prior to shipping. Works to priorities set by the Department Lead and follows processes developed by Engineering.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Follow all established quality management system procedures and work instructions as applicable
- Completes assignments by meeting or beating 95% of time standards and less than 10% rework of all assemblies
- Match Drilling/Reaming components for rivet/sheer pin install
- Installation of solid rivets, hollow pull rivets, clinch nuts, clinch studs and nut plates
- Installation of Sheer Pins (hI-Locks)
- Electrical Bonding/Installation of ground studs
- Adhesive sealing and bonding
- Strong Troubleshooting and Rework Abilities
- Good Communication Skills
- Responsible for Process Verification
- Consistently follows work instructions
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Knowledge of various methods of installing solid rivets, including gun, and buck bar , and compression/ impact riveting
- Knowledge of other types of Aerospace hardware including sheer pins (hI-Loks)
- Knowledge of Electrical Bonding requirements and measurement
- Understand setup and operation of various compression and impact riveting/ hardware installation equipment (C-Squeeze, Compression Riveter, Brake, Haeger Press)
- Ability to work cooperatively in team environment
- Know how to read and understand engineering drawings/ technical instructions
- Perform simple work assignments, often repetitive in nature
- Computer literate
- Ability to sort, check, count, and verify numbers
- Perform simple arithmetic
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
High school graduate or equivalent, Two (2) to Five (5) years' experience in structural aircraft assembly required.
Physical Requirements:
Stooping, crouching, reaching, walking, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motion. Must be able to lift 75 lbs. Must have close visual acuity. May be subject to atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dust.
