Position Overview:
As a cashier, you'll be the face of McKeever Price Chopper, responsible for creating a welcoming and helpful atmosphere for every customer. From efficiently operating the checkout lane to assisting customers with locating products, you play a key role in ensuring a smooth and enjoyable shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet each customer with eye contact and a sincere "Thank you"
- Provide friendly, helpful, easy, and safe service that meets customer expectations
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude in line with company standards
- Operate the register quickly and accurately, handling various forms of payment
- Stay informed on regulations regarding WIC, food stamps, alcohol/tobacco, and lottery (if applicable)
- Promote additional product sales when appropriate
- Keep cashier area and store clean and organized
- Assist customers with bagging and locating items
- Return misplaced products to shelves
- Resolve customer complaints courteously and professionally
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Dependable and trustworthy with a professional attitude
- Basic math and literacy skills (8th grade level)
- Ability to count money accurately
- Stand for 4-8 hour shifts
- Frequent walking, bending, and reaching
- Use of hands, wrists, and arms repetitively
- Lift up to 10 lbs frequently, up to 36 lbs occasionally
- Push/pull up to 40 lbs occasionally
