Responsible for supporting the Education Service Center's human resources function by assisting in the strategic planning, coordination, and implementation of HR programs. This role encompasses professional and auxiliary staffing, wage and salary administration, leave management, performance appraisal processes, employee relations, benefits administration, and the onboarding and offboarding of employees. The HR Coordinator ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field. 3 or more years of experience in human resources Knowledge of employment law, HR practices, and benefits administration. Essential Functions:

Support the recruitment and onboarding process, including job postings, application screening, interview scheduling, and new employee orientation. Assist in wage and salary administration, ensuring accurate and timely processing of pay adjustments and related documentation. Administer employee leave programs in compliance with applicable laws and organizational policies. Provide support for the performance appraisal process, tracking completion and maintaining accurate records. Serve as a resource to employees regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures. Assist in the resolution of employee relations matters by gathering information, maintaining confidentiality, and escalating concerns appropriately. Maintain accurate and secure personnel files and HR records in accordance with retention guidelines. Support benefits administration processes, including open enrollment, changes, and communication with employees. Participate in the development, communication, and implementation of HR policies, programs, and initiatives. Provide oversight of the ESC's leave, health insurance, optional employee benefits, workers' compensation, and unemployment compensation benefit programs. Support administration of the employee grievance procedure adopted by the board. Interpret policies and procedures and ensure support of employees on employment, record keeping, retirement, grievance and other personnel matters and procedures. Comply with federal and state laws, State Board of Education Rules, and ESC board policy and procedures. Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical and responsible. Articulate and support the Center mission and instructional philosophy. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

The ideal candidate will have/be:

Knowledge of HR principles, employment law, and best practices. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. High level of discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive and confidential information. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across the organization. Ability to interpret and explain HR policies and procedures to employees and supervisors. Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. Proficiency with HRIS systems, Google, and Microsoft Office applications. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Problem-solving skills with the ability to recommend effective solutions. All positions at ESC 3 are defined as security-sensitive.
