Under general supervision of the Director, this position is responsible for coordinating/processing of the medical staff/advance practice appointment and reappointment applications for Bartlett Regional Hospital and Petersburg Medical Center. Independently supports the hospital's medical credentialing needs for physician, advance practice clinician, medical student, job shadows, medical resident, and Access to Services providers. The position is a subject matter expert in a defined functional area where decisions may directly impact patient care, accreditations, or community perception of Bartlett Hospital. This position works collaboratively with clinical administrators, locum tenens agencies, hospital department, leadership, and providers to ensure the credentialing process meets industry standards prior to recommending to committee. This position makes decisions on the initial documentation and furthering of files to the credentialing committee for full review
This position also provides technical assistance on systems used by the department and helps providers/committee members to use data/data program for credentialing decision making. The incumbent also provides analysis, summary, and interpretation of a variety of data used to make credentialing decisions.
This position also administers and works with a variety of systems including but not limited to the following:
Meditech Credential Stream Dr. First/EPCS RCOPIA and Impravata Amion Med Power/Relias Nasdaq Board Advantage Minimum Qualifications for the Job: Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. Experience:
A minimum of one (1) year of professional Medical Staff Services experience OR two (2) years of administrative experience of which a substantial part of the duties involved Medical Staff Services or Human Resources work.
Qualifying Experience Includes:
Healthcare industry experience, in medical staff services, provider enrollment, medical education, quality/risk management, human resources, coding, and/or preparing & retrieving information from electronic or hard copy medical files while maintaining confidentiality and proofreading. Microsoft Suite Products, data management, Teams. Medical terminology.
Preferred
Certification(s):
Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) certificate or Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM). Internal Hires:
Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms. External Hires:
This position starts at $3,033.60 biweekly. Step placement and rate of pay will be determined based on relevant experience.
