Principal System Engineer
to join our Enterprise Technology team in
Reston, VA . This is a high-impact, on-site role focused on architecting and deploying secure, scalable, and cost-effective systems across cloud and hybrid environments. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in Azure, Microsoft 365, Endpoint Management, Identity & Access Management (IAM), and on-premises infrastructure. Responsibilities:
Design and implement enterprise-grade systems aligned with strategic business and technology goals. Lead the development and optimization of system engineering processes across cross-functional teams. Conduct impact analyses for major design decisions and present risk-informed recommendations. Develop and evaluate system prototypes to support architecture decisions. Define and enforce infrastructure and system engineering standards and technical principles. Perform comprehensive system-level testing to ensure performance, reliability, and compliance. Serve as a technical lead, collaborating with Enterprise Architects and stakeholders to deliver complex solutions. Drive enterprise technology strategy in partnership with engineering, project management, and leadership teams. Oversee technical reviews, assess system design quality, and ensure adherence to standards. Qualifications: Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in system architecture, integration, and testing. Proven expertise in Azure, Microsoft 365, Endpoint Management (Intune, MECM), IAM, and hybrid infrastructure environments. Strong background in requirements management and impact analysis for enterprise systems. Familiarity with industry regulations, security frameworks, and engineering best practices. Professional certifications preferred (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, CISSP, MCSE). Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field (preferred). Compensation & Benefits: Salary Range: $150,000 - $165,000 (based on experience) Benefits Package: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Paid Time Off, Sick Leave (as required by law), and Holidays
