About the Role Are you a visionary technology leader who thrives at the intersection of innovation, collaboration, and execution? A privately held, financially strong commercial insurance and benefits brokerage is searching for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead enterprise-wide transformation from their Midwest headquarters in Dubuque, Iowa.
This is a hands-on, impact-focused CTO role—not just about managing infrastructure, but about reimagining how technology enables smarter, faster, and more integrated decision-making across the organization. You’ll spearhead AI integration, data architecture, automation, and digital modernization, working side-by-side with business leaders to unlock efficiency and drive value.
Key Responsibilities
Structure and manage high-volume internal data for advanced analytics, operational insights, and improved client interfacing.
Lead AI, automation, and RPA initiatives to modernize workflows and scale digital solutions.
Guide internal and external development teams to build scalable, secure, and user-centric software products.
Digitize and modernize legacy systems across diverse business units including commercial insurance, benefits, and client services.
Partner cross-functionally with executive and departmental leaders to identify business needs and co-create technology strategies that deliver real results.
Establish and evangelize best practices around data integrity, systems architecture, security, and digital governance.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement, transparency, and cross-functional collaboration.
Qualifications & Experience
Proven experience as CTO, Head of IT, or Senior Product/Technology Leader in a mid-sized insurance brokerage, financial services, or B2B services company.
Hands-on leadership in enterprise software development, data modeling, and product lifecycle management.
Deep knowledge of AI/ML integration, automation tools, and cloud architecture.
Strong track record of modernizing legacy systems and leading digital transformation efforts.
Experience with data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS, Azure), RPA technologies, and business intelligence tools.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Passion for problem-solving, operational efficiency, and transformational leadership.
