We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented
Payroll Manager
to oversee and manage the payroll operations for our organization, supporting a workforce of approximately
1,000 employees
across multiple locations. The ideal candidate will have
hands-on experience with CDK software
and a
strong background in the automotive industry . This role requires someone who can ensure compliance with all relevant payroll laws, regulations, and internal policies while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Manage end-to-end payroll processing for ~1,000 employees using
CDK software . Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices. Collaborate closely with HR, Accounting, and Operations to ensure accurate employee data, including new hires, terminations, promotions, and benefit deductions. Maintain and reconcile payroll records, including timekeeping data, tax withholdings, garnishments, and bonuses. Prepare and submit payroll reports to management and external auditors as needed. Ensure timely filings and payments of payroll taxes and other withholdings. Respond to and resolve payroll-related inquiries from employees in a timely and professional manner. Lead and mentor payroll staff or coordinate with outsourced payroll providers if applicable. Stay updated with changes in legislation, especially those affecting the automotive sector. Qualifications: 5+ years of payroll management experience , with at least
2+ years using CDK software . Experience managing payroll for 1,000+ employees
is
required . Industry experience in automotive retail or dealership groups is mandatory . Strong understanding of payroll systems, tax regulations, and best practices. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting tools. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
