Senior Accountant - Revenue

The Senior Accountant-Revenue plays a key role in the organization in completing the accounting activities and analyses required to record the company's patient revenue. This position ensures accurate review of revenue recognition in compliance with GAAP and ASC 606, prepares detailed revenue schedules, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to resolve revenue-related issues. In addition, this role supports the monthly close process and drives process improvements in accounting operations. Roles and Responsibilities: Manage the month end accounting close process for revenue transactions, analyze discrepancies for accurate reporting, collaborate across departments for reporting accuracy, and implement internal controls to enhance financial integrity. Analyzes contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition and ensure that revenue-related agreements are accurately stated in the company's financials. Completes revenue line item analyses and provides explanations for variances to budget and prior periods. Prepares Balance Sheet reconciliations timely and accurately. Ensures compliance with all audit controls for assigned accounts. Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommends opportunities for process improvement. Serves as a subject matter resource for facility and corporate leaders around financial statement analysis. Assists with the corporate budget process. Prepares and reviews audit documentation for external and internal audits. Leads accounting projects and other activities assigned. Education/Experience/Skill Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required. Three or more years' accounting experience with an emphasis in healthcare revenue accounting preferred. Knowledge of accrual-based accounting and month end closing procedures. Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage large amounts of data. Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office; especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
