Senior Reporting & Data Analyst
The Senior Reporting & Data Analyst in the IT department is responsible for transforming raw data from critical systems like ServiceNow, tolling back office and roadway systems, and other monitoring and asset management tools into powerful insights. The reports and dashboards will provide a comprehensive, real-time view of our IT health, availability, performance, security, and assets, directly influencing strategic decisions and driving operational excellence across the entire IT organization. This role involves developing and tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure IT success (e.g., system performance, service availability) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to proactively identify potential issues (e.g., security vulnerabilities, compliance gaps). This position collaborates closely with diverse IT teams, understanding their unique data needs and delivering clear, actionable intelligence that fuels NTTA's success. Responsibilities: Collaborate with stakeholders to identify data reporting and analysis requirements specifically related to system health, availability, performance, security monitoring data from tools like ServiceNow, tolling systems, security platforms, and IT asset management data. Collect, clean, and validate data extracted from ServiceNow (including asset management modules), system monitoring platforms, asset management databases, and potentially other relevant IT systems. Design, develop, and maintain recurring and ad-hoc metrics reports on key IT performance indicators (KPIs) derived from these sources, focusing on areas such as system uptime, incident trends, performance metrics, security alerts, asset inventory, asset lifecycle, software compliance, and hardware utilization. Create interactive and user-friendly dashboards using data visualization tools to provide real-time insights into the health, availability, performance, security, and asset landscape of IT systems, leveraging data from ServiceNow, tolling systems, monitoring platforms, and asset management systems. Analyze data from these sources to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies related to system health, performance bottlenecks, availability issues, security incidents, asset distribution, underutilized assets, and compliance risks, providing actionable insights and recommendations. Document data sources, extraction processes from ServiceNow, tolling systems, monitoring tools, and asset management systems, reporting methodologies, and dashboard designs. Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security in all reporting and dashboarding activities related to system monitoring and asset management data. Stay up-to-date with the latest data analysis techniques and tools, as well as best practices for reporting on IT operations, security metrics, and IT asset management. Present findings and recommendations related to system health, availability, performance, security, and asset management to both technical and non-technical audiences. Contribute to the development and improvement of data governance policies and procedures related to the utilization of data from ServiceNow, tolling systems, monitoring tools, and asset management systems. Qualifications: Minimum: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field. Five years of proven in data analysis, reporting, and dashboard creation, with a strong preference for experience working with data from IT service management (ITSM) platforms like ServiceNow, system monitoring tools, and asset management systems. Strong proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using tools such as SQL and Excel, with experience in querying and extracting data from ServiceNow and asset management databases. Hands-on experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, MicroStrategy) and the ability to connect them to data sources like ServiceNow and asset management systems. Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, systems, and processes, with a focus on concepts related to system health, availability, performance monitoring, security, and IT asset lifecycle management. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets, particularly those related to IT operations, security, and asset management. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy, especially when dealing with critical system monitoring and asset data. Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information and insights derived from system monitoring and asset management data. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, interacting with various IT teams to understand their reporting needs related to system health, performance, and asset management. Preferred: Experience with ServiceNow's reporting and analytics capabilities, including Performance Analytics and Asset Management modules and their APIs. Familiarity with dedicated asset management tools and their data structures. Experience with scripting languages for data manipulation and automation (e.g., Python, JavaScript) for interacting with ServiceNow, SQL databases, monitoring tools, or asset management system APIs. Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and their application to reporting on service management and asset management metrics within ServiceNow. Understanding of security monitoring concepts and experience in reporting on security-related data in the context of managed assets. Certifications in ServiceNow administration/development, IT asset management, or data analysis.
