Director, Regional Strategy & Agenda
Company: Ball Corporation Location: Westminster, CO, US, 80021 Primary purpose of the position: Responsible for leading business and commercial strategy development and implementation in the region/GV. Conceptualize and implement effective solutions that enhance business outcomes. Recommend mid-term, long-term priorities for region to pursue (e.g., Hoshin, volume targets). Work cross-functionally across the region and as appropriate across the Enterprise, leverage data-driven inputs to influence key strategic business decisions. Attract and develop future leaders at Ball. Essential Responsible Areas: Develop business and commercial strategies for the region in conjunction with key senior leaders, including footprint need identification (intersection of customer, competitor, and assets) Sets priorities and works with regional S&M VP and regional President on aligning pace/priorities, including business cases in region, innovation priorities and works with cross-functional partners on implementation (supply chain/operations/procurement, etc.) Develops path forward through key targets and metrics (e.g., Hoshin, volume targets); holds others for metric/targets accountable Build business cases to support regional priorities and requests from other orgs (answering "why is this so important?"), including data analysis from insights, category management and recommends sound business cases to VP Strategy & Marketing and Region President Communicate regional priorities throughout the org. to create internal alignment Lead/provide direction to the portfolio management team relative to key customer facing project management activities including front-end innovation pipeline activities Run AOP and regional budget creation process Provide input into the global strategy Sign off on supply chain network changes engaging with Cross Ops Transformation team as appropriate Top 5 outcomes the role drives for Ball: The strategy role develops and launches/drives the business strategy playbook for the region both across the broader business and commercial landscape with ties to the cross-ops transformation team. Develops and ensures execution of growth-focused regional strategy that links to the Enterprise COE strategy. Conducts Play-to-Win (PTW) strategy development for markets and customers (linked with Category Management team), works with the COE regarding cascade PTW connection. PTW outcome will deliver sustainable, evergreen go-to-market plans supporting the business' ability to achieve critical financial objectives. Strategy development, business priority setting and building a winning GTM plan will lead to a high level of quality ideas driven into the front-end of the innovation process. Understanding TAM, SAM and SOM opportunities including share of wallet work across the market will lead to a higher quality growth pipeline. Minimum Education & Experiences: Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field required; master's preferred. Minimum of 7 years' experience doing strategy, sales or marketing leadership Minimum of 3 years' experience doing account management, marketing or analytics Skills & Knowledge Required: Demonstrated skill in strategic leadership and making business decisions with critical analysis, sound judgement and influence Demonstrated skill in developing business cases with strong analysis on consumer data, operational capability data, consumer insights & analytics, and customer opportunity Demonstrated skill in taking many conflicting or competing priorities and identifying/deciding which priorities produce better growth, share of wallet, contribution margin or other key metrics/targets Demonstrated skill in significant influence and stakeholder management at many levels, including executive leadership to technical experts Demonstrated skill in taking conceptual ideas affecting customers and/or manufacturing footprint to deliver growth targets Working knowledge of beverage packaging industry and competitive landscape Working knowledge of strategic developing and planning process, and prioritization methodology for high-impact decisions Working knowledge of business financial acumen, including EBITDA or other financial metrics contributing to larger enterprise financials Working knowledge of commercial strategies to grow with customers or gain new customers Compensation & Benefits: This role is based in our Westminster, CO headquarters. No relocation will be offered. Hiring Salary Range: $145,700 - $213,020 This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
