Job Description
Snowflake Developer is a highly skilled professional who designs, develops, and optimizes data solutions on the Snowflake cloud data platform. They lead the implementation of data warehouses, data lakes, and ETL processes, ensuring efficient data storage, processing, and analytics. They are also responsible for mentoring junior developers, driving innovation, and ensuring data integrity and security.
Key Responsibilities
Design and Development Architecting and building scalable data pipelines using Snowflakes features and modern data stack technologies.
ETLELT Processes Developing and managing ETLELT processes for data ingestion and transformation.
Data Modeling Designing and implementing data models, including star and snowflake schemas, for data warehouses and data lakes.
Performance Optimization Monitoring and optimizing Snowflake performance, ensuring data integrity, and implementing quality checks.
Data Integration Integrating Snowflake with other systems and tools, including third-party applications.
Security and Compliance Implementing security measures, including encryption and access controls, to protect sensitive data. Collaboration and Mentoring Working with cross-functional teams, mentoring junior developers, and sharing best practices. Cloud Migration Migrating on-premises solutions to the Snowflake cloud platform.
Required Skills and Experience Snowflake Expertise Deep knowledge of Snowflakes architecture, features, and best practices. SQL Proficiency Advanced SQL skills for data manipulation, querying, and development. ETLELT Experience Hands-on experience with ETLELT tools and processes. Data Modeling Experience with data warehousing concepts and techniques. Cloud Technologies Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP. Programming Languages Experience with programming languages like Python or Scala for data transformation. Communication and Collaboration Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse teams. Problem-Solving Ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues, including performance bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities. Security Competencies Expertise in data security, including encryption and access management. CICD Experience with CICD pipelines and tools for automating deployments. Data Validation and Querying Proficiency in SQL for data validation and querying, with experience in SnowSQL scripts,. Snowflake Internals Deep understanding of Snowflake internals, including stages, integrations, and network policies. Key QualificationsBachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.Minimum 8 years of experience in data engineering or software development, with a focus on Snowflake.
