Regal Boats is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Industrial Sewer to join our Upholstery team. The Industrial Sewer will play a crucial role in seaming pre-cut patterns to create complete parts, contributing to the overall success of our manufacturing processes. Key responsibilities include setting up industrial sewing machines, selecting proper thread, and performing minor adjustments and maintenance. The Industrial Sewer will also check daily schedules, ensure proper inventory of materials, and align parts following specified markings. They will sew parts using various stitches and work with thick materials such as vinyl and canvas. Excess threads and edges of parts will be trimmed for a finished appearance. Completed covers and upholstery products will be prepared for delivery to assembly/tacking stations. The Industrial Sewer must adhere to schedules and deadlines, ensuring quality standards are met, and maintain a clean and organized working area. Required qualifications include a minimum of 2 years of experience with an Industrial Sewing Machine using single and double needles, experience with sewing thick materials like vinyl, strong attention to detail, ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment, physical ability to work a 10-hour shift, flexibility to work planned and unplanned overtime, ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), excellent adherence to safety and quality standards, dependability and reliability, team player with the ability to work closely with others, and ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions in English. The work environment must be able to work in a non-climate controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature reaching over 100 degrees Fahrenheit at times. Physical demands include bending at the waist and knees, standing for extended periods of time, climbing into and out of boats using stairs, lifting 50 pounds, working 10-hour days with most of the time being on your feet, and working overtime, whether planned or unplanned.
