Associate General Counsel for Optum Bank Legal Team

The Optum Bank legal team is hiring an associate general counsel. This attorney will advise Bank personnel on a variety of legal topics to support the delivery of banking products and services to Bank customers. Youll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. Primary Responsibilities: Assisting in the review, preparation and negotiation of various contracts and documents associated with Bank business Participating in and leading negotiations with key customers and vendors Legal research, direct interaction with clients, and drafting formal and informal correspondence and memoranda Collaborating with colleagues across the UnitedHealth Group legal department Proactively identifying and resolving legal and related matters impacting the Bank Developing best practices for addressing emerging legal and business risks Supporting the Bank in the development and delivery of new products, working in partnership with cross-functional employees of the Bank and Optum Financial Managing outside counsel Fostering key internal relationships The successful candidate will possess solid verbal and written communication skills, sound judgment and business instincts. The ability to lead projects and change is also critical. The ability to delegate work and operate in a matrixed environment will be important qualities for the successful candidate. Prior law firm and in-house experience are desired. Required Qualifications: Juris Doctorate degree Licensed to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction 5+ years of experience with contract drafting Preferred Qualifications: Experience with banking Experience with bank partnership agreements, real estate transactions, payments, commercial lending, and other related requirements governing financial institutions *All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Groups Telecommuter Policy. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
