POSITION SUMMARY: The Produce QC Supervisor will provide leadership to the Produce QC team. They will be responsible for maintaining the highest quality produce, consistent with the longstanding reputation of Chefs Warehouse. We are looking for a candidate with demonstrated experience with fresh produce, a strong background in quality control, inventory management expertise, as well as top tier leadership and communication skills.
WHAT YOU'LL DO: Train new hires and provide support to hourly QC team Work closely with receiving team to ensure timely receipt of excellent quality produce Investigate quality and inventory issues Make informed decisions about produce quality, with consideration for customer experience and shrink % Maintain accurate inventory by conducting daily inventory counts, as well as making accurate and timely inventory adjustments Cull/rework cases in an effort to reduce shrink Communicate effectively with operations, sales, and buying teams Produce reports to share interdepartmentally ABOUT YOU:
You are organized and efficient in meeting deadlines You have strong communication skills 2-4 years experience with food, especially fresh produce 1-2 years warehouse experience Familiarity with food safety protocols Literacy in basic technology, including inventory management systems, Excel spreadsheets, etc. Efficient, with attention to detail Willing to work in temperatures between 37-52 degrees Able to lift 50lbs Strong analytical skills with an ability to interpret quality data and identify improvement opportunities. Keen attention to detail and a refined sense for produce aesthetics and quality characteristics. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.
