The Role
As Program Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management of Commercial and/or Personal Lines programs managed via MGA partnerships. The portfolio, written on a surplus-lines basis is comprised of Transportation, Commercial Property and Casualty and Homeowners. In partnership with the Programs Underwriting Manager, you will manage assigned programs on an underwriting and financial performance basis.
Responsibilities
Ensure sound underwriting decisions in context of evolving market, legal landscape, and broader macroeconomic environment Delegate and ensure adherence to underwriting authority, both internally and externally Manage effective auditing of underwriting Form development Data integrity for risk and claims bordereaux Collaboration with MGAs and Brokers on assigned programs Manage new business, rate and retention of assigned programs Financial accountability for transactions and overall financial results of assigned programs
Qualifications
10+ years production underwriting and 3-5 years of program management experience with a proven track record in the delegated authority program segment The ability to effectively manage programs at all levels Sound knowledge of the US insurance market, trends, and emerging issues The ability to independently prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines Familiarity with programs operations Portfolio Management in terms of rate, retention and NB Ability to analyse and write underwriting guidelines Knowledge or quota share and XOL agreements Problem solving, critical thinking and analytical, skills, to drive profitability over time of assigned program portfolio. Strong communication skills, oral and written Willingness to travel as necessary
Salary range: $150,000 - $180,000
