Create hands-on lab activities and inquiry-based projects to ignite curiosity and reinforce concepts. Regularly assess student understanding through formative and summative evaluationsprovide constructive, growthoriented feedback. Foster a positive, inclusive classroom where diverse learners feel supported and inspired. Partner with colleagues, families, and
administratorsparticipate
in school-wide events like science fairs and interdisciplinary initiatives. Maintain accurate records and embrace ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in science education. Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in Science, Science Education, or a related field. Valid Illinois teaching certification for middle school science or general middle school education. Proven experience teaching science to grades 68 (minimum 23 years preferred). Strong classroom management, practical communication skills, and ability to tailor instruction to diverse learning styles. Preferred Qualifications Masters degree in Education or Science Education. Experience designing and facilitating lab or field science experiences. Familiarity with educational technology, digital learning tools, or science curriculum development.
