Gift Shop And Burgee Logo Shop Manager

Assists in developing and administering high quality retail operations for the Gift Shop and Burgee Logo Shop, performing the following duties with an emphasis on maintaining the Ocean Reef Club brand. This job is on-site. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure inventory is being ordered and stocked in a timely manner. Create orders through the Purchase Order System and submit for approval to VP, and Retail Purchasing. Liaise with Retail Warehouse to ensure product received is correct and delivered in a timely manner to shops. Work with team to maintain attractive presentation and displays changing frequently and coordinating shop appearance around Holidays, events and special promotions. Assess cost of sales, sales pace and inventory and recommend inventory reduction strategies while maintaining cost of goods. Explore and introduce new brands, categories and concepts. Source branded merchandise. Manage all vendor relationships including set up, buying and payment. Evaluate products through staff and customer feedback, comments and surveys. Implement business strategies through product development, buying, pricing and merchandising. Coordinate with Retail Manager on promotions and events for Communications team for distribution. Assist Retail Manager on street fairs, Club events and trunk shows to create extra shopping experiences for the membership & generating exposure to merchandise. Assist Retail Manager with special orders and conference group orders. Support Retail Manager when needed with floor coverage. Train Associates on new products and features. Participate in quarterly inventory counts. Attend trade shows. In addition to the following duties and responsibilities, other retail duties may be assigned. Qualifications: Strong communication skills, verbal and written. Professional appearance Pride in club presentation as well as self presentation Education and/or Experience: Buying and/or merchandising experience required A four-year College degree and one to three years experience with a quality retail facility preferred. Merchandise display experience Working with retail vendors Working knowledge of excel Language Skills: Must be able to comprehend the English language in order to communicate with co-workers and fully understand job assignments. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry and report deadlines, associate may be required to work varying schedules to meet the business needs of the Club and report deadlines. Proper grooming is required by all associates and is described in detail in the Associates Handbook. Associates should review this policy and make sure that at all times they present themselves for shifts looking clean, neat and professional.
