Forklift Operator

The Forklift Operator will be responsible for efficiently pulling orders for shipment to customers, managing various shipping functions, and ensuring the safe movement of parts across different areas. This role requires effective coordination with assembly lines and market areas, as well as handling trailers with a switcher truck as needed. Responsibilities

Observe and follow company rules and regulations, maintaining a satisfactory work area through the implementation of 5S. Conduct daily safety checks for towmotor start-up and perform dock/platform inspections before use. Engage dock locks before entering trailers and adhere to towmotor refueling procedures. Inspect racks and shipments for damage, ensuring proper packaging and adherence to instructions. Ensure bar code labels are correctly attached and scanned, and manage HOLD tags appropriately. Pull parts in FIFO order for shipment staging and maintain proper flow on Kanban Master Board. Support company goals, provide input for reducing downtime, and maintain towmotor equipment. Follow rules on EH Boards, report production status, and ensure compliance with fixed locations. Lead by example in attendance, quality, and accountability, and perform duties with changing priorities efficiently. Essential Skills

Forklift experience Picking and packing skills RF scanner and tow motor experience Sit down forklift experience 3-4 years experience in a manufacturing environment Ability to lift 50 lbs without mechanical assistance Good basic math knowledge Strong verbal and written communication skills Excellent organization and coordination skills Additional Skills & Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED equivalent Completion of tow motor training and certification prior to job move Experience in material handling, loading, shipping and receiving, and order picking Why Work Here?

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, Tennessee. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.85/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
