Accounts Payable Clerk

The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for providing financial, administrative and clerical services in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations along with receptionist responsibilities for handling from office reception, administrative duties, including operating multi-line telephone system. Responsibilities Verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures. Process data entry and check printing. Prepare checks as and when required. Maintain updated vendor files and file numbers. Research and respond to vendors questions pertaining to their accounts. Reconcile vendor statements. Maintain a filing system for financial documents. Ensure the confidentiality and security of all account payable files. Greet and assist visitors. Answer incoming telephone calls, determine purpose of calls and forward to appropriate personnel. Takes messages or transfers calls to voice mail when appropriate personnel is not available. Perform other related jobs as required. Skills Knowledge of office administrative and bookkeeping procedures Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering accounts payable invoices. Working knowledge of accounts payable and maintaining vendor accounts Excellent interpersonal skills Completes work in a timely manner.
