SD-WAN Cisco Engineer Job Type: Contract Duration: 4 to 6 Months 100% Remote role
About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer with strong expertise in Software-Defined Wide Area Networking (SD-WAN) technologies. This role involves designing, implementing, and supporting secure, scalable, and high-performance network solutions for enterprise environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal connectivity, network resilience, and alignment with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, deploy, and maintain SD-WAN solutions (e.g., Cisco Viptela, Client Velocloud, Fortinet, Silver Peak). Configure and troubleshoot network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers. Optimize WAN performance, application delivery, and failover strategies. Integrate SD-WAN with existing enterprise networks and cloud infrastructure. Monitor network health, perform diagnostics, and resolve incidents. Implement network security best practices, including segmentation, VPNs, and firewall policies. Collaborate with vendors, ISPs, and internal stakeholders to ensure network reliability and performance. Document network designs, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience). 4+ years of experience in enterprise networking, including WAN/LAN design and support. Must have Cisco Meraki Expertise Hands-on experience with SD-WAN platforms (Cisco, Client, Fortinet, Silver Peak, etc.). Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), and MPLS. Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark). Familiarity with network security tools and concepts (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs). Excellent problem-solving and communication skill
