Part-Time Cheer And Dance Coach

Penn State Behrend is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Part-Time Cheer and Dance Coach to lead, mentor, and grow our co-ed cheer and dance team. This position is responsible for planning practices, developing routines, promoting team spirit, and coordinating performances at home athletic events and select campus events. Responsibilities: Coach and supervise all practices and performances Choreograph routines that promote school spirit and athletic excellence Promote a positive team culture focused on inclusivity, respect, and school pride Ensure the safety of all participants during practices and events Coordinate with the Athletics Department for scheduling and travel Recruit and retain team members through campus involvement and outreach Maintain open communication with student-athletes, administrators, and support staff Qualifications: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work evening and weekend hours as needed for games and events CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Must pass background checks as required by Penn State Preferred Qualifications: Experience choreographing halftime or sideline routines Collegiate cheer/dance experience as an athlete or coach Familiarity with game-day operations and crowd engagement Background Checks/Clearances: This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks. Campus Security Crime Statistics: Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
