Position responsible for developing, providing, and coordinating direct staff education, new employee and agency employee orientation training, development of curriculum, and credentialing for clinical employees. Position typically reports to the System Director of Clinical Education. Manager, Clinical Education and Training Location: Memorial City Campus Employment Type: Full-Time | Leadership Role About the Role: We're seeking a dynamic Manager of Clinical Education and Training to lead education initiatives at our Memorial City campus. This newly created role will oversee a team of 10 nurse educators, manage campus-wide education programs for Nursing, Respiratory Care, and Allied Health, and coordinate student placement processes. You'll collaborate closely with unit leaders while maintaining autonomy to drive campus-specific training and development. Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a high-performing clinical education team Oversee all education and training initiatives at the campus level Coordinate student placements and support NRP programs Drive professional development for clinical staff Partner with executive leadership to align education strategy with system goals Qualifications:
BSN required; Master's in a related field preferred Active specialty nursing certification Minimum 2 years of bedside nursing experience 5+ years in a formal Nurse Educator role 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role (e.g., charge nurse, coordinator, manager) What We're Looking For:

Education: Bachelors of Nursing required; Masters Degree in Nursing preferred Licenses/Certifications: Current State of Texas license/permit to practice professional nursing required Certification in Nursing Professional Development preferred Clinical specialty certification preferred Completion of American Heart Association - Basic Life Support required Other certification based upon specific nursing unit may be required Experience / Knowledge / Skills: At least five (5) years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse and three (3) years experience directly managing staff Previous experience in a clinical education role, preferred Principal Accountabilities:
Manages the integration and facilitation of education activities at Memorial Hermann facilities as they relate to clinical employees. Analyzes training needs based on system changes and recommends appropriate training solutions as they relate to clinical employees with a key focus on High Risk/Low Volume competencies. Identifies, plans, develops, implements, coordinates, and evaluates education programs, interacting with staff to ensure needs are met. Coordinates content and validation design of initial and annual required education/competencies for clinical employees. Evaluates performance of clinical education employees according to identified criteria. Promotes team approach to healthcare delivery. Facilitates effective patient education at the service level. Evaluates effectiveness of patient education. Collaborates to develop and maintain new employee orientation program. Acts as clinical resource for staff. Communicates effectively with all levels of the healthcare team. Collaborates with MHHS stakeholders to identify and coordinate clinical learning needs across the organization to ensure safe, competent practices and care delivery. Oversee on-going audit of clinical education employee files to ensure MHHS and regulatory requirements are met. Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service. Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff. Demonstrates commitment to caring for every member of our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences.
