Gas Turbine Commodities Buyer
The buyer is the focal point to lead the development and execution of long-term commodity strategies for Gas Turbine commodities purchasing through negotiation, plan development, and execution. As a lead buyer, you will strategically develop and manage a global supply chain of goods and services to geographically diverse locations, while driving commercial advantage through achievement of quality, cost, usage, and delivery goals. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals. Essential Responsibilities
Ensure timely creation and release of Purchase Orders to support the master schedule Collaborate with Purchasing Planner, Supply Planner, Sourcing and Value Stream Materials Team to drive fulfillment activities and ensure on-time delivery Manage relationships with suppliers for PO execution, including managing scheduling changes and cancelations. Challenge supplier and follow-up recovery plans when needed Keep ERP (SAP) system up-to-date, including updating scheduling changes and cancelations Apply appropriate Sourcing policies. Drive Sourcing program and lead Material initiatives such as management of deflation activities and supply chain risk mitigation Support sourcing initiatives, including lead time reduction, new product introduction (NPI), payment terms, and cash flow improvements Manage projects in a matrix organization across the globe, including interacting with manufacturing personnel to understand unique supplier requirements of global supply chain business Provide technical guidance to suppliers toward assuring product/process compliance with engineering drawings and specifications Interface with the Operations Team, Shop Scheduling, configuration control, Lifecycle Center of Excellence (COE), Service Center Managers, and other GE organizations as required Lead physical inventory control activities, including cycle counting, variance analysis, and cross-functional coordination, resulting in improved inventory accuracy and reduced stock discrepancies Demonstrated strong understanding of global logistics operations, including Incoterms, international shipping documentation, and tariff compliance to support efficient and cost-effective material flow Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Technical, Business, Supply Chain or related fields with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Manufacturing, Materials, Inventory Management and Warehouse Modules, Materials, or Production Planning and Control OR a high school diploma / GED with at least 5 years of experience in Manufacturing, Materials, Inventory Management and Warehouse Modules, Materials, or Production Planning and Control Desired Characteristics
Experience working with SAP ERP Ability to multitask in a dynamic, fast-paced environment Ability to manage changing/conflicting priorities and resolve appropriately Analytical and system proficiency skills Ability to effectively operate in any organizational structure Strong oral and written communication skills Strong interpersonal and leadership skills Ability to effectively interface with all levels of management Ability to interact in a global, multicultural, multi-time-zones environment Autonomous, self-starter Clear direction and guidance to suppliers to ensure alignment with project and quality requirements The base pay range for this position is $94,000.00 - 127,000.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 10% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
