Located in Norfolk Virginia, Kempsville Center for Behavioral Health is a leading community partner providing acute, residential, and Partial Hospitalization treatment for children and teens exhibiting behavioral and/or mental health concerns. The hospital is dedicated to providing high quality care to children, adolescents and their families. We provide quality care to children and adolescents in need, using quality, evidence based practice treatments. Founded in 1986, Kempsville Center for Behavioral Health is an 82-bed hospital facility accredited by The Joint Commission (TJC), and licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia and The Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS). Qualifications
The Case Manager is responsible for the delivery of services to residents and families. Acting as liaison between treatment team, referral source, community agencies, court officials, outside therapists. Maintains the integrity of the medical record of assigned residents. Leads specific treatment team meetings. Prepares and participates in inquiry system by taking inquiry calls and assists in disposition of calls under the guidance of Director of Clinical Services. Provides assistance with resident care as needed. Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Clinical Psychology, or related field, or Bachelor's Degree and experience in related field, required. Management experience with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and an understanding of mental illness, preferred. Must maintain a valid driver's license required. May be required to work rotating weekends and holidays. Licensure/Certification: None Physical Requirements: The physical requirements for this position include being able to stand, squat, kneel, sit and lie on the floor for long periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. The individual must be physically capable of providing direct total physical care to unpredictable, potentially violent, mentally ill patients as necessary, including lifting, supporting, running towards or away from areas where problems are occurring.
