Senior Electrical Engineering Technician
We are a stealth-mode Aerospace & Defense startup headquartered in El Segundo, CA. Our founding team hails from SpaceX, Anduril, and Lockheed Martin, and we are backed by Joint Sta-level military leadership and top-tier Silicon Valley rms. We're assembling a high-agency team committed to moving fast, solving hard problems, and defending what matters most. With a world-class business development & leadership team already in place, we are well positioned to capitalize on already overwhelming demand. Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Electrical Engineering Technician to join our engineering team. This role is critical in supporting both one-off prototype development and volume production of electronic assemblies. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in wiring harness assembly and documentation, electrical system assembly and rework, and the ability to work independently with ambiguous or incomplete documentation. This position requires adaptability, technical precision, and close collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams to deliver high-reliability products across all phases of development. Key Responsibilities
Build, test, and troubleshoot early-stage prototypes based on engineering concepts, preliminary schematics, and evolving BOMs. Effectively work from ambiguous or incomplete documentation, using engineering judgment, prior experience, and collaboration to resolve gaps. Support volume production, including validation of assembly/test procedures, creation of feedback loops for continuous improvement, and resolution of build issues. Execute fine-pitch crimping and cable/connector assembly using appropriate crimp tools and inspection methods. Operate and maintain electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and power supplies. Provide DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFT (Design for Testability) feedback to design teams. Document assembly methods, test results, and rework actions in a clear and consistent manner. Ensure work meets IPC standards and internal quality/ESD procedures. Mentor junior technicians and assist in training production personnel as needed. Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in electronics prototyping, rework, and production support. Experience with fine-pitch crimping and miniature connector assembly. Comfortable interpreting incomplete schematics, early-stage BOMs, and evolving designs, and capable of asking the right questions to fill in gaps. Strong understanding of electronics assembly, ESD procedures, and component-level troubleshooting. Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills. Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic development environment. Relevant Experience
CAD viewers (Altium, OrCAD, etc.) for reviewing schematics and PCB layouts. Familiarity with engineering change control and product lifecycle management tools. Prior experience in regulated industries (e.g., medical, aerospace, automotive) is a plus. Rework, assembly, and repair of fine-pitch surface-mount components, including 0201, QFN, BGA, and micro-BGA packages, using microscopes and specialized rework equipment. Working Conditions
Lab-based work requiring precision tasks under magnification for extended periods. Occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs) and use of ESD-safe attire. May require work on multiple development and production projects simultaneously.
