Fueler Service Technician

Immediately hiring a permanent full-time Fueler Service Technician and want the right Fuel Island Attendant to join us at Ryder in Newton, North Carolina. Hourly Pay: $22.00 per hour Schedule: Monday through Friday Hours: Second Shift 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm Benefits include annual merit pay increases every year, on-the-job paid training, and medical, dental, vision, 401 K, and other benefits starting at 30 days. We also offer 12 weeks of paid maternity leave, paid time off starting at day one with 80 hours per year, and additional day off for U.S. military veterans. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, three (3) years or more of related work experience, proficiency in English written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated customer service skills, understanding of computer hardware and software, high degree of thoroughness and dependability, ability to work flexible schedules including shift work, weekends, holidays, and ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Must be 18 years of age or older, detail-oriented, and have a valid commercial driver license (CDL) class A preferred. DOT safety regulated position; this position requires driving Ryder vehicles. In order to become a Ryder employee, you must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire, pass a Ryder drug test, pass a DOT physical, pass a Ryder road test, and pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years. Responsibilities include fueling vehicles, recording fuel activity/maintaining proper fuel and DEF inventory and reconciliation, checking oil, checking tire pressure, moving heavy duty vehicles, washing and detailing vehicles, washing windows, making multi-point inspections on inbound units as required by company policies/procedure, reporting service issues to the shop, performing minor maintenance tasks such as tire repairs and aligning wheels per company procedure, performing some facility maintenance and assisting with environmental compliance of the location, maintaining fuel island area to Six Sigma standards and policies, and performing other duties as assigned.
