Job Description To be an effective Account Manager at Scarbrough Global, you must possess exceptional communication skills, an energetic personality, and a strong work ethic. You should be able to quickly grasp complex situations and anticipate what needs to be done to achieve success. A self-starter mentality is crucial, as the role requires ownership and accountability for the performance of assigned accounts. The ability to proactively manage relationships, resolve challenges, and drive results is essential for thriving in this position. You will be successful in this role if you are a proven sales hunter and closer with a forward-thinking attitude who has strong skills in negotiation and relationship building. Knowledge in supply chain processes, transport modes, technology, and services are inherent within the position as it offers an industry foundation to present our services and solutions to potential customers and clients. Key Responsibilities Initiate sales strategies to generate new business; pursue new customers via email, calls, leads, and have the ability to generate your own leads Foster relationships with potential and current clients; build strong relationships with customers by staying in constant communication to ensure day-to-day and long-term needs are met Quote, LTL, truckload, and specialty shipments based on market research Work closely with Operations team to meet our clients' shipping needs Full responsibility for customer load coverage via supporting role and their own desk Sell wide variety of domestic transportation services, including: drayage, LTL, FTL, and project cargo Characteristics of Success 2-5 years Transportation Account Management experience in the freight forwarding/logistics industry, specifically in domestic transportation Understanding of freight forwarding, logistics, and domestic transportation Customer focused with proven history of exceeding customer expectations Energetic and determined self-starter that maintains company values Effective written and verbal communicator with excellent presentation and interpersonal skills Continuously develop and train on sales techniques, customer service, and phone skills Organized, self-motivated, performance driven, with a strong work ethic Establish and build close relationships with clients by understanding business needs Understanding of sales performance metrics Company Benefits All benefits, vacations, and raises are provided according to Scarbrough Global policy.
