Reality Capture Technical Manager

Our Reality Capture team has an opening for a Reality Capture Technical Manager in our Central region. This role could be based in the following studios: Lincoln, NE Omaha, NE Des Moines, IA About Reality Capture at DLR Group The Reality Capture team utilizes a combination of lidar 3D scans, photogrammetry, photographs, and construction documents to create 3D models that elevate accuracy and safety throughout the lifecycle of our projects. Position Summary As a Reality Capture Technical Manager at DLR Group you will use advanced technology to quickly develop digital models of existing buildings and spaces. Architectural knowledge of existing buildings is crucial. You will lead and train staff to translate lidar and/or photogrammetry data into 3D BIM or other deliverables utilizing Revit, AutoCAD, and visualization software, such as IVION, Cintoo, Reality Cloud Studio, Twin Motion, Navisworks, and digital twin products such as Autodesk Tandem. You will partner directly with the Project Manager to ensure the financial health of the project, the quality of project documents, claim prevention, team collaboration, and communication. Additionally, you will lead the cross-functional design disciplines in developing technical solutions. What you will do: Champion Reality Capture across DLR Group, driving innovation and best practices Lead and inspire Reality Capture Technicians in your region, fostering growth and collaboration Partner with leadership to shape and implement Reality Capture BIM standards Manage project schedules, delivery, and profitability to ensure client and team success Communicate seamlessly with the Reality Capture Team to keep projects on track Coach staff in advanced Revit techniques and precision building documentation Transform 3D point clouds and existing records into accurate, high-quality building documentation Oversee QA/QC of digital drawings + in-progress models and guide projects from BIM kickoff through closeout Collect and implement feedback on modeling standards Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch) or similar degree; actively working toward licensure 10-12 years of professional experience, inclusive of at least 5 years of team management experience Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Civil3D, InfraWorks, Recap, Navisworks, BIM360/ACC, and Dynamo Experience with Point Cloud software such as Leica Cyclone/Register360, Field360, 3DR, and CloudWorx Strong understanding of building documentation best practices Knowledge of Level of Accuracy (LOA) standards for 3D Capture and Level of Detail (LOD) standards for BIM Proven ability to manage and collaborate across multiple project teams concurrently Preferred Qualifications: CSI, USIBD, and Autodesk certifications (or actively working toward certification) Licensed architect or actively working towards licensure Experience with additional software tools such as NavVis, Leica, Esri, and Cintoo Understanding of how to integrate emerging technologies into sustainable and environmentally responsible building design and construction *TO BE CONSIDERED, PLEASE SUBMIT CURRENT PORTFOLIO/WORK SAMPLES IN PDF FORMAT*
