Operations Technician

Responsible for supporting business functions throughout the facility. This includes product assembly, inventory control, loading and unloading trucks, and service work on products in the field. Key Responsibilities: Assist with maintaining and organizing an inventory control system. Maintain accurate inventory count. Unload incoming freight and load outgoing freight, using a forklift, if needed. Verify and process into the ERP systems all items on packing slips for quantities received and backordered. Inspect incoming and outgoing product for damage and document as needed. Responsible for putting inventory in designated areas in an organized and efficient manner. Conduct inventory audits (cycle counts). Responsible for assisting in year-end inventory procedures, as needed. Perform troubleshooting and repair work for Steffes products in the field. Follow and understand standard work, training guides, and acceptance criteria to meet customer and QMS requirements. Able to read and understand drawings to assemble product. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a collaborative manner with customers, suppliers, co-workers, and management. Helps company meet its Strategic, Quality, and Safety Objectives. Other duties may be assigned. Job Requirements/Qualifications: High school diploma or GED 2+ years of prior related work experience Basic computer knowledge (Windows, email, internet, etc.) Written and verbal communication, math, reading, and spelling skills. OR An acceptable combination of education and experience Functional & Cognitive Requirements of Position: This position requires walking, sitting or standing to a significant degree. Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds from floor to waist, carry 50 pounds, and push and/or pull up to 75 pounds. Must have the ability to climb ladders and/or stairs. Stooping, crouching, kneeling and bending. Handling, feeling, and gripping would be required for some activities. Visual acuity is required to inspect work completed. This role may be subject to internal and external environmental conditions. Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, make timely decisions in the context of a workflow, ability to communicate with visitors, ability to complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity quota.
