CNC Machinist
We are a growing, family-owned metalworking company that rebuilds, retrofits, services, and manufactures machinery such as mills and grinders. As our business continues to expand, we're looking for a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team. Primary Duties Set up and operate Mazak CNC equipment, including vertical and horizontal machining centers as well as turning centers. Create and modify programs directly at the machine using Mazatrol conversational controls or similar systems. Adjust and fine-tune G-code for improved performance and accuracy. Handle all aspects of production runs, including workpiece loading, tooling setup, and quality/tolerance monitoring. Perform regular inspections and basic preventative maintenance to keep machines running efficiently. Work closely with engineering, quality, and remanufacturing teams to ensure projects meet specifications and deadlines. Qualifications Hands-on experience operating Mazak machines, with strong preference for familiarity with Mazatrol conversational programming (e.g., Smooth G, Smooth Ez, Integrex). Ability to create and edit programs directly at the control panel. Strong knowledge of G-code and CNC operations, with capability to troubleshoot and make manual edits as needed. Proficiency in reading blueprints and using precision measuring instruments. Committed to safety, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a small, collaborative environment.
