The candidate will be responsible for completion of task level work, including field investigations, construction and/or remedial action oversight, health and safety air monitoring, and preparation of technical reports. This role will work in the field under the supervision of a Field Operations Leader and in the office will work collaboratively with peers, senior technical staff, project managers and under the supervision of their Operations Manager or other assigned manager. One or more mentors will be assigned in order to provide field and office training to support growth and development. In this position, the candidate will be expected to follow company safety standards, participate in safety training, and prepare as well as implement site-specific health and safety plans. The desired candidate will be responsible for reviewing, understanding, and implementing site-specific work plans, scopes of work and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), as well as supporting the preparation of various technical deliverables including reports, letters, proposals, tables, and figures. Responsibilities include: working as a member of teams conducting hands-on multi-media environmental sampling, assisting with field preparation efforts and support field activities, monitoring remediation work to ensure compliance with contract specifications, regulations, and industry standards, recording and compiling data into coherent products for customer use, interpreting and explaining findings to project teams, and assisting with preparation of written documents and technical evaluations. A bachelor's degree or master's degree in Geology, Geological Sciences or Engineering, or a bachelor's degree in the natural sciences is required. Junior level position with 0-5 years of work experience in environmental consulting, engineering, or related industry. Willingness and ability to travel as needed. Existing certifications for Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response training specified in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 29 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 1910.120 is preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products is required. A driver's license current and valid for a state in the United States is required. Previous field experience preferred, including sampling activities and environmental drilling operations. Ability to work well with teams, as well as complete assigned independent activities, for both field and office project work. Attention to detail is required. Ability to communicate effectively and provide thoughtful input and/or make evaluated decisions for the betterment of the client and the company. Skilled as a problem solver, will have an interest and ability to work in a collaborative manner, and will have the flexibility to adapt to changing situations. Experience preparing technical reports, memos, response to comments tables, and diagrams is a plus. Knowledge of and ability to analyze chemistry and environmental data is desired. Experience of interfacing with clients, subcontractors, working groups, and internal customers desired but not required. Working knowledge of the conceptual site model (CSM) process is preferred. Knowledge and/or experience including CERCLA PA/SI and RI/FS is preferred. GIS experience is a plus. This position requires the candidate to be a U.S. Citizen due to the projects they will be working on. Candidates must be able to walk large project sites and must be physically able to carry up to 35 pounds of equipment during field work. Field activities take place in a variety of weather conditions and can occur in remote locations and include areas of uneven terrain or occur during harsh weather and require long periods of standing or walking. Field sampling and monitoring may include various media (soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, soil gas, and air). Candidates must be able to sit at a desk / computer in an office environment for office-based tasks. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Project work will primarily entail fieldwork and include data evaluation and report writing tasks in a typical office environment with controlled conditions. Fieldwork may entail work in a wide range of outdoor conditions, including work in adverse weather conditions, such as high heat, extreme cold, precipitation, and unimproved job sites where dense vegetation, uneven ground, and physical obstacles may be present. Field project durations are not normally expected to exceed 2 weeks. However, some longer-term field assignments are possible. Ability to read, research, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical documents and procedures, and government regulations. Ability to write detailed reports, business correspondence, and procedures suitable for client submittal. Ability to effectively present information, communicate, and respond to questions from coworkers, clients, customers, and the general public. Effective communication skills, both orally and in written form. Must be fluent in the English language

Candidates should possess strong organizational skills, excellent leadership skills, and be client focused. Ability to be self-directed, solution-oriented and anticipate and/or identify issues early. Must possess basic computer skills; the computer skills must include proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel. Knowledge/experience in computer-based, graphics software, data evaluation software, and electronic field data collection is desirable but not necessary.
