As our company grows, we're seeking a dedicated
Shop Mechanic
to join our team and help maintain our fleet of equipment and vehicles at peak performance.
Job Summary: The Shop Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of company equipment and vehicles, including heavy machinery, trucks, trailers, and small engines. This role plays a critical part in supporting field operations by ensuring all equipment is safe, reliable, and ready for deployment.
Key Responsibilities: Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on diesel and gas engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and related components. Conduct routine maintenance (e.g., oil changes, filter replacements, brake inspections) on fleet vehicles and equipment. Remove and install semi-truck tires using manual equipment and proper safety procedures. Maintain accurate service records, including maintenance logs and parts usage. Inspect and prepare equipment prior to job deployment. Assist in ordering and organizing parts and supplies. Work independently and prioritize repairs based on project urgency and equipment availability. Ensure the shop and yard are clean, organized, and safe. Adhere to company safety policies and OSHA standards.
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required; technical certifications preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a mechanic, preferably with heavy equipment or diesel engines. Proficiency in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Valid driver's license; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various outdoor conditions. Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
