JOB SUMMARY

This production floor position works closely with the production & operations group and is responsible for mixing of thermoplastic resins and additives for use in plastic injection molding. The position also requires maintaining the organization and accountability of these resins and additives in respect to location, amount, and cleanliness. The role will also involve press, loading equipment, and hoppers changeover and cleanup.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Maintaining and accountability of resin and additives including but no limited to weight counts. Mixing of thermoplastic resin pellets and/or regrind pellets with colorants and/or additives. Ensures machine area(s) are clean throughout the shift and prepared for subsequent shift. Cleaning of material handling equipment thoroughly for changeover to new jobs. Thorough cleaning of mixing equipment to prevent cross-contamination. Transport of mixed and unmixed resin pellets to work centers. Cleaning filters on drying equipment. Provides timely and complete communication to cross-functional teams regarding quality and/or operational issues. Consistently meets production and quality standards and works with Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) in mind. Other duties as assigned by the Production Manager to support production needs

QUALIFICATIONS 1-3 years prior experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting desired. Strong organizational and communication skills. Can work successfully in a team environment and is able to take direction from others. Ability to function under pressure without panic. Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division Computer proficient-Microsoft Windows based computer operation. Understanding of quality control concepts and processes within a manufacturing environment. Able to lift heavy objects up to 55 lbs. Able to work with hand and power tools. Ability to differentiate varying shades of colors, Must be able to work overtime or alternate schedules as needed, sometimes on short notice or on weekends. Ability to work at a fast pace, standing or walking most of the shift. Experience in a lean manufacturing environment is a plus.
