Plant Accountant
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all costs are accurately reported, including production-related costs, cost of sales, and operating/overhead expenses. You will also be responsible for periodic reporting of operational metrics to plant and business unit management. Additional duties include data analysis, identifying areas for process and/or cost improvement, extracting data and creating reports, month-end closing journal entries, and monthly account reconciliations. Perform general cost accounting and other related duties. Prepare monthly financial statements and related KPI reports. Maintain the general ledger, prepare journal entries, and perform month-end close on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Code invoices, reconcile accounts, and provide variance explanations. Assist with the annual budget and monthly forecasting with related variance reporting. Verify and/or complete payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts. Adhere to the system of internal controls over financial reporting (SOX). Generate inventory and operational reports for management. Coordinate and reconcile semi-annual physical inventory counts. Provide assistance to internal auditors by gathering necessary account information and providing relevant support. Support weekly and bi-weekly payroll and payroll reporting as needed. Assist with requests from external auditors. Perform other related duties as assigned. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Experience in financial accounting and cost accounting. Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting preferred. Familiarity with SAP, UltiPro, UKG. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. This position requires 100% in-office presence, Monday to Friday from 6 am to 3:30 pm. There may be occasions during month-end close when working past 3:30 pm is necessary. The role reports directly to the Plant Manager and involves managing all accounting responsibilities for the Ashland City location. The pay range for this position is $44.23 - $45.67/hr.
