ITT Goulds Pumps Buyer
ITT Goulds Pumps is searching for a Buyer to join their team in Seneca Falls, NY. The primary responsibility of this position is to manage and procure inventory levels required to meet shipment and operations objectives. The Buyer will also interface with suppliers, engineering, project teams and manufacturing personnel as required to meet and exceed operational goals and customer service requirements. This role will support timely execution of tactical buying in alignment with commodity strategies and local operations and will manage some supplier relationships for his/her assigned scope. Essential responsibilities include managing supplier relationships for assigned scope and supporting commodity managers as required during business cases and overall strategy implementation for main suppliers. Perform tactical purchasing driven by MRP as well as individual requisitions. Maintain ERP parameters such as lead-time, lot sizes, etc. to support on-time performance. Draft and execute improvement plans on Quality, Cost and Delivery for assigned vendors. Lead cross-functional follow-up and timely report on progress. Create purchase orders, schedule product delivery, modify existing purchase orders, and control open orders to assure timely performance from assigned vendors. Work with suppliers to assess/balance capacity and requirements to satisfy on-time performance and inventory levels. Manage and reconcile inventory discrepancies, payment disputes and supplier non-conformance issues. Challenge status quo on cost and drive target savings initiatives cross-functionally. Work with product managers and planners to develop stocking/pull levels to support market demand and anticipate issues. Secure and analyze quotations, negotiate price, LTAs, payment terms with suppliers and recommend based on cost, quality and delivery. Position requirements include a Bachelor's degree or combination of education and relevant materials experience is required. Purchasing Certification and/or Specialization is preferred. 5+ years of related experience is required. Experience in Lean processes, inventory management and materials/purchasing is required. Manufacturing background is strongly preferred. Knowledge of cost breakdown, Incoterms, price formation are required. Knowledge of machining, castings and fabrication manufacturing processes are strongly preferred. Customer service and expediting/troubleshooting experience is required. Experience with MRP, forecasting and stocking levels is required. Proficient in MS Office. Requires initiative, creativity and assertiveness, coupled with strong interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills. Teamwork and problem-solving skills are required.
