Description
Primary Functions
The position is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage and handling of materials within a manufacturing facility - involved in all production operations from receiving raw materials through shipping finished goods. The position ensures materials are readily available for production, shipping and other operational needs - forecasting the needs of operators to avoid a slowdown in production. This role requires a strong understanding of inventory management, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a fast-paced environment.
Every day is different, and this position must be able to adapt quickly, with excellent customer service, to changing needs. This position is key to the success of all departments.
Duties Daily use of ERP system and RF scanning equipment Use data from ERP system to plan ahead and move material, anticipating needs of operators Work with department managers to keep material organized and available for use Receive incoming shipments, including unloading trucks as needed Inspect and process incoming materials, verifying accuracy, quality and condition of goods Use forklifts, pallet jacks and hand trucks to move material between storage locations, production areas and loading docks Provide items as requested in a timely manner, with excellent Track inventory, count materials and update inventory records Resolve issues related to material flow, inventory discrepancies or other operational challenges, working with appropriate team members for solutions Prepare items for shipping, including loading trucks as needed Support shipping/receiving department as needed Maintain a work area free of clutter and potential hazards Performs other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements
The physical requirements for this position require frequent standing and intermittent walking, bending, sitting, and lifting of parts weighing up to 50 pounds. The Material Handler should have the physical and mental ability to perform the above necessary job functions while maintaining an exemplary safety record.
Skills and Experience
The Material Handler must have a minimum of two years material hanger experience in a production environment and must have obtained forklift certification in previous positions. Must possess strong reasoning and communication skills, while possessing the ability to remain organized and efficient when managing multiple tasks. Must be able to provide excellent customer service to internal customers. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges is required. Strong computer skills required for receiving material, moving material and inventory of material in our EPR system.
