Senior Accountant
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This role involves overseeing key accounting processes such as journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger management. Responsibilities: Prepare and review journal entries to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Perform bank reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records. Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded. Oversee the month-end close process, including the preparation of financial reports. Reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies to ensure data integrity. Utilize Abila MIP or similar fund accounting software to manage financial operations. Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial data. Provide support for audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports. Requirements: Proven experience in accounting, with a focus on journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger management. Strong proficiency in month-end close processes and financial reporting. Familiarity with fund accounting software, particularly Abila MIP, is highly desirable. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
